Our First (and last) Photo Session

Lathan is over one month old! To commemorate this exciting time we decided to take him to get some photos taken . It was quite an experience! We had to keep explaining to the photographer that Lathan was only a month old...no he can't hold his head up, he won't really look at the camera, if he smiles it's just gas (maybe). Needless to say, we had a good number of retakes. However, Jim and I enjoyed the opportunity to take some photos with our little guy! We did decide that while this was an enjoyable time and will make wonderful memories, we will opt for "Grandpa Carmichael's Photography". He has a nice camera and will listen when we tell him that Lathan is not able to smile and say "cheese" quite yet! Enjoy!

  1. Aww... What beautiful pictures!!!
Your experience with photographers and newborns reminds me of when Niyah was about 2 weeks old, we took her and Alex to get their pictures done at Sears. The lady kept trying to bounce a ball to get Alex to smile and she hit Niyah right on the head!!! By the time I got Niyah to stop crying, her face was all red and blotchy and that's the way the picture turned out! Now I look back and laugh at it, but at the time it was very frustrating.
I hope you all are doing well!

  2. We're with you - no more professional pictures! Who needs em anyway?
We would love to have you over sometime soon. What does March look like for you? Connor sleeps from 1-3/4ish so maybe we could visit with the babies while he is sleeping? Lathan could use our pack n play if he wants to nap. Most days are good for us, let me know what your schedule looks like! See you soon!
